BOOM!! February 29th @ Humbrews

Greetings Massive!!!!

It is our pleasure to announce this upcoming event. This is something different for Humboldt County, Reggae Music meets House Music in a unique environment.

Rob Paine

Coming from Philadelphia, Rob Paine is the producer behind the seminal record label Worship Recordings. He also runs Solomonic Sound System, blazing conscious reggae tunes for the Philly Massive. His music has been a big inspiration for the Humboldt County electronic DJs.

DJ Receiver The Dub Cowboy

DJ Receiver the Dub Cowboy might be more well known as the host of "The Reggae Jamdown" on KHSU, but his musical path started firmly in electronic Dub music. He was drawn to the music of Rob Paine and before long, a connection was made.

Rob Paine and the Worship Recordings crew came to Humboldt in 2001 for one of the most exciting events in the early days of Humboldt DJ culture, and one of the last shows at Cafe Tomo. This time the stage has been set with more sound, more visuals, and a very special guest...

Ishi Dube
Humboldt County's own Ishi Dube joins the bill for a live performance. Ishi has been singing and performing blazing conscious tunes for the massive quite a bit in recent times. The cross between Reggae music and House music opens up a new platform for his singing style. No doubt, he will bring a familiar touch to the performance in a whole new way.

The production includes massive sound from Humboldt Brews and Deep Groove Society. The Deep Groove Society intelligent lighting system will also be in place, accompanied by visual projections from Fred Lights.

This is also a celebration for our family and friends celebrating a birthday in February and March.

The show starts at 9pm
21+
$8 cover
(50 $5 presale tickets will be available for those with a tight budget. Humboldt.DJ and Deep Groove Society want this event to be accessible to as many people as possible, yet still need to cover production and travel costs)

Humboldt Brews has alter-able access. Special arrangements can be made for anyone with unique needs by contacting DJ Dub Cowboy, djdubcowboy [@] yahoo.com.

On an environmental note: The flyers have been made on recycled card stock. The size and quantity were selected for minimum impact on the environment. You can help even more by recycling what you see and spreading the word about this event to your friends and family.
